Why Morning Meditation?

The morning is the most important part of the day; though you already know this, I'm sure. It sets the tone for the rest of the day, hence the saying: “Did you get out of bed on the wrong side this morning?” when a person is in a bad mood.

You've probably noticed how much advice there is out there about a positive “morning ritual.” And it's for a good reason. How those first few hours pan out determines the tone for the remainder of the day.

If you've got kids, like me, mornings can get pretty stressful – trying to get everyone fed and ready on time.

But I find that getting up a little earlier than everyone else to prepare my intention for the day helps navigate any stressful situations. It gives me more time to prepare and not feel like I'm always rushing against the clock.

Kids or not, whether you're going to a busy workplace or staying at home to get all the chores done, setting an early positive intention can make the day much happier and more productive.

How the Morning Meditation Works

Morning Meditation is an Alpha binaural beats track. Alpha is the state associated with calm focus, intention, positive thinking, and the flow state.

The Morning Meditation starts in the Theta state, where your brainwaves are likely most dominant – having not long woken up and possibly struggling to get going.

The track then leads you up into the Alpha state, leaving you at 12 Hz by the end of the session. This is right in the middle of the Alpha range, where you'll experience a stress-free, positive, and productive state of mind.

The music used in this meditation is tuned to 528 Hz. This frequency is known as the ‘Love frequency' and the ‘miracle note', a frequency intrinsically connected to nature and present in many things, from chlorophyll to the buzzing sound made by bees.

Research of the effect of 528 Hz sound waves on rats showed that it has the potential to reduce anxiety (1). Another experiment in humans showed significant stress reduction (2).

How to Use This Meditation

This program can be used at any time in the morning, but ideally, it should be part of your early morning routine.

You can use it before or after breakfast, but we recommend waking up 30 minutes earlier than usual to incorporate the session before your day typically begins. You can achieve this by going to bed a little earlier the night before, or by avoiding hitting the snooze button on your alarm!

In addition to the 30-minute version, we provide a 60-minute version of the program, which can be used when you have more time available, such as on the weekend if you're not working.

To listen, find a quiet space, whether it's your bedroom or another room in your home. If the weather permits, try listening outside to establish a closer connection with nature and the awakening world around you.

Sit on a chair, cushion, yoga mat, or anything that feels comfortable. Once you are seated, put on your headphones and press play on your device.
